About 2 – 3 years ago at the beginning of construction of the Route # 6 / Platt Springs Rd. extension, they had a meeting at White Knoll High School. Road engineers spread out the proposed plans on a lot of flat tables and showed how it would affect different areas. Senator Jake Knotts appeared. OK, that’s normal enough. Then he glad handed me and almost like he was playing the sherriff in the movie “In the Heat of the Night”, he said to me in his local drawl, now ya’lll remember that I got ya’lll this here here road!! Sheesh.
