North Korean Rocket Failure: Flaw or Sabotage?
Last week, the North Korean government launched a controversial rocket supposedly to put an “earth observation” satellite into orbit. However, the vehicle is believed by many in the international community to be a test for an intercontinental ballistic missile. The launch was a failure as the rocket exploded just a couple of minutes after launch. The official story is flawed engineering, but, was it?

UPDATE: What Is The REAL Threat To Privacy?
In the wake of an article claiming the National Security Agency is engaged in an illegal “domestic spying program,” NSA’s director, Army General Keith Alexander responded to questions before a Congressional panel. Responses to my post by Wired and Glen Beck’s The Blaze were vastly different.

What Is The REAL Threat To Privacy?
There is a lot of fear mongering by … well … mongerers of fear over the establishment of a new National Security Agency data center in Utah. This new center is supposed to be proof that “Big Brother” is intruding on our private lives. Not only are these rants neurotic, they obscure the real threats to privacy.

Japan A Year Ago
It’s been a year (already?) since the brutal tragedy in Japan. Earthquake, tsunami and a nuclear power plant breach all fell upon the Land of the Rising Sun reminiscent of Biblical plagues. I wrote about my former residence after the horrors last year. I’m reposting to remind us of the misfortunes of a wonderful people and a beautiful country.

Do We Have The Will?
“Soon we will hold a military maneuver on how to close the Strait of Hormuz. If the world wants to make the region insecure, we will make the world insecure”

Politically Correct Madness
“My faith in government is diminished. It invents euphemisms … Little Rock is a drive by and Fort Hood is just workplace violence. The truth is denied.”

Three Heroes
Dedicated in 1996, the wall now bears 166 names of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine and civilian cryptologists who died while serving their country. The polished stone is shaped into a triangle. At the top are the words, “THEY SERVED IN SILENCE.”

The Truth About Waterboarding
The recent debate among Republican contenders for the presidency concentrated on issues of foreign policy and national security. Among the questions posed to the candidates was their positions on torture and waterboarding. The responses were clear and, from some, disappointing.
