I don’t know the difference between Larry Grooms and Nikki Haley. They both seem to be close enough on several issues that I’m sure either would be better than just about all of the other options.
However, one big difference has emerged: Ron Parks. No matter who he supports, I will support the other guy (or gal), because of one little line in his posted temper tantrum to the Spy:
I assume you to be a young man due to the lack of effort noteably [sic] absent in your research, which is often and unfortunately a product of the younger generation who have not had to put much effort into anything.
Wow. The guy just insulted an entire generation! Maybe even several (I’m still not sure what age range is covered by “the younger generation”). Never put much effort into anything? I’m sorry, did a quasi-prominent political figure just say that?
It’s sad, too, because the Tea Party phenomenon seems so neat. Too bad it’s not simply an act of citizens who want to take their country back. No, it’s more about political posturing and name-calling, which is the backbone of politics in South Carolina. Actually, this gives me hope. Maybe this tragedy is isolated to our state, as most of the daily moronic political maneuvering is. Yes, it exists in every state, but ours is almost fueled by it. Hopefully it’s not elsewhere and it’s just some jackass hungry for some sort of spotlight that caused him to act so stupidly.
I don’t really care about the Grooms vs. Haley stuff as much as the Spy. They’re both probably decent in my book. But being a product of “the younger generation” who has busted my backside for myself and my family, I can confidently tell Mr. Parks to go to hell.
I am currently working four jobs to provide for my family because I had to take a job that pays half of what I used to make before being laid off. I worked hard enough in college to be named Outstanding Senior in my major. I also used my “effort” to become the youngest Adjunct Professor at USC just one semester after graduating. I rarely have a night at home because of all of my “effort” yet when I do, I “put effort” into being the best father and husband I can.
And you can’t even “put effort” into clicking one little link on the blog you claimed to have read. Had you “put effort” into that, maybe you wouldn’t have hilariously, yet tellingly said that you assume the Spy “to be a young man due to the lack of effort notably absent in [his] research.”
How many people in your state did you just insult, there, Ronny? Do you genuinely feel that the “younger generation” doesn’t work hard and don’t “put much effort into anything?”
How do you expect anyone in the “younger generation” to support you or anything that you say?
Sorry, Mr. Grooms. I’m sure you were a decent candidate. You just won’t be mine.
And, to repeat for emphasis, Mr. Ron Parks, go to hell.
I’m sure many, many other younger voters invite you to do the same.

Got to agree with you on that one. Well, on most things. I’m not supporting any candidate using RQA, Palmetto Scoop, or any of the other blood-sucking consultants. So, who does that leave, Spy?

They are all a bunch of clowns, evil clowns.
You caught me on a bad day. There are days when we all want to quit and go back to life as it was. I don’t think that will ever be possible with the approaching storm. a dear friend and fellow organizer that we in the movement highly respect and appreciate, was literally in tears that day, from the signing of the health care bill to the struggle within the movement. It typically isn’t the war that is in front of us that wears on us, it most often is the struggle within. In some form it was a protection element for Maria that kicked in.
Personally, I work a job daily, had caught a bus (with a bus driver with no bus driving abilities, it was worse than you could imagine) to DC on Wednesday night at midnight. Arrived in DC 1 1/2 hours later than scheduled. This, after working two nights organizing the trip including answering emails resulting in 54 patriots, for whom I am responsible, signing up for the trip to DC. This, comes after spending 7 straight days overseeing and working as needed in our Coastal Carolina Fair booth (while daily working a paying job). Spent all day Thursday walking the halls of congress only to have our cold and tired group picked up by said bus driver 1 1/2 hours later than the scheduled 8 hours rest. Arriving home at 6:30am on Friday morning…just in time to get in my truck and go to work. Got off from work around 3:30pm just in time to go to the Fair, finally getting into bed at 12 midnight. Saturday morning I drove to Columbia for an all day tea party state organizers meeting and then back home to Charleston for a family birthday party.
An apology is due you…and I do apologize for my rude email introduction. Portions of that day would have been better spent outside on the tractor.
Respectfully,
Ron Parks
P.S.
“No matter who he supports, I will support the other guy (or gal)…”
May I assume by this that you may be throwing a temper tantrum? Does this mean if I were to switch my support to Haley…LOL…I hope this isn’t about you or me, but the best candidates for South Carolina.
“I don’t know the difference between Larry Grooms and Nikki Haley”
Charlie, that was the point of my email…we within the tea party movement, who have done our homework DO.
Apology accepted, Ron. Godspeed.
Abba Joe:
Lest I should travel the nefarious path you eagerly traverse, the prudent words of Abraham Lincoln should suffice as commentary to your disconcerting diatribe:
“It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.”
You just did.
Abba:
Surely, you have the intellectual wherewithal to proffer a more erudite riposte than “oh yeah, so are you”. Such a puerile retort as yours simply reiterates the need to heed my initial admonitory reproach.
Nonetheless, why do you, Charlie, and Charlie’s informant (who provided him with false information and shared all of our email addresses for unsolicited correspondence) pursue efforts to undermine this grassroots conservative movement?
Why not direct your efforts toward fighting big government growth, big government spending, and the inevitable taxes to pay for it all?
Good God Almighty. Did you get a Thesaurus for bar mitzvah or a debutante party gift?
Nonetheless, it’s the preservation of the grassroots movement that is most important to me and the person who provided me with the facts in my piece.
Mr. Parks, I was the one who wrote the article, not Charlie. And if you truly believe what you wrote in your e-mail to him, yes, I would support someone other than Haley if you endorsed her. I am a member of the “younger generation,” Charlie is not.
I do appreciate your response, though. We all have bad days and it was big of you to respond the way you did. Like I said in my article, I’m not as into the goings-on behind the scenes as the Spy. I see who speaks to me (or about me, in your case), and decide from there.
I do see that you had to get one last comment in by saying “you may be the one throwing a temper tantrum” comment in response to my saying that “no matter who [you] support, I will support the other guy (or gal).” If you don’t think that’s an appropriate response to your e-mail to the Spy, I can’t help you. You expressed your opinions of my generation, and how can you expect me to respond otherwise? If you call that reaction a temper tantrum, it seems like you have a lot MORE to learn about this generation.
The sad part: I don’t know who Larry Grooms is. I attended my local tea party events. I even made U-tube and the Washington Post for my outburst of anger at the PC, government loving, country club RINOs that run our state.
I guess I must be spending too much time with my wife and 4 children to keep up with all the politicians that want to control my every thought and action. OR, maybe all of you guys should take a evening off to visit wiht your wife and offspring before the ends of the candle meet.

Joe,
The “temper tantrum” comment you refer to in my closing remark was merely borrowing from your earlier statement included here;
“No matter who he supports, I will support the other guy (or gal), because of one little line in his posted ‘temper tantrum’ to the Spy:”
It was an observation based on your aforementioned conclusion.
The following comment which has served to agitate you so, was designed to that ends, which again, I apologize. The observation itself is not so much mine as it is my daughters, who are a part of ‘your generation’.
“I assume you to be a young man due to the lack of effort noteably [sic] absent in your research, which is often and unfortunately a product of the younger generation who have not had to put much effort into anything.”
David,
Thanks for the reminder…seriously.
Thanks, Ron. I, and others in my generation(s?) have worked hard and have come on hard times lately just like everyone else across generational boundaries, so it’s a little sensitive when someone makes some of the comments you made.
I do appreciate you coming on here and responding the way you have.
Seriously, I do.
Thank You Spy.
