Hollerin’ Joe: Part 2

Last week I wrote that S.C. Congressman Joe Wilson’s outburst during President Obama’s speech before a joint session of Congress was “unseemly.”

Rep. Wilson could have gotten his point across by waiting for the spin cameras and mics after the speech or, if he felt he had to say something during, just holler “No!”

I stll feel that way, but I’m really amused at what Democrats are now doing regarding Joe’s “indiscretion.”  The Congressman apologized to the President who accepted.  But Wilson’s Democrat colleagues in the House also want to sanction/admonish/reprimand or otherwise give him a symbolic noogie for his lack of decorum.

Dems – the longer you string this out and try to string Joe Wilson up, the bigger “hero” he becomes.  Despite the lack of manners he exhibited, the Congressman struck a deep and sensitive cord with millions of voters – voters who are tired of spin and double-speak.  John McCain had his “Straight Talk Express” in last year’s presidential race, but no talk has been straighter in political circles that Wilson’s two word diatribe.

Those two words, “You Lie!” – have become the mantra of angry citizens across the country – yeah – The Mob.  Those two words were seen on scores of signs at last weekends “mobfest” in Washington along with others that lauded Congressman Wilson as a hero.  And although his opponent in next years election claims $1 million in donations since the incident last week, Wilson is reporting $750,000 in new contributions in the same period.  It is more than likely that Wilson’s sources for new money will continue beyond that of his opponent.

So, Democrats, keep up your campaign against Joe Wilson; it’ll only stoke the already incendiary political atmosphere you and yours have lit.

No lie.

I neither praised or condemned Joe Wilson. I rationalization the situation with the conclusion that Joe Wilson told the truth about Obama; Obama is a liar. Just wished it had been a different venue. Wished other Conservatives could generate some passion. That’s ok, we all fart in church at times, just don’t do it and point toward the old lady sitting in front of you.
The Democrats will make a hero out of Joe Wilson for the average Conservative if they keep stretching out Joe Wilson’s fifteen minutes of fame. The Conservatives went through six months of Pelosi, Obama, and assorted Democrats calling them everything from Stupid, Racist, Nazi…etc.. especially during the town hall meetings to protest ObamaCare and excess spending. Conservatives are looking for that passion, Somebody, Someone, hey You, jump and tell these fools what you think of them. He did and they are happier.
Money coming into Miller is “weak money,” won’t buy anything significant in the campaign. What ever advances Miller makes will be out-distanced by Wilson’s new money and inspired support.
