Sanford to S.C. – Drop Dead

Governor Mark Sanford didn’t take Lt. Governor Andre Bauer up on his “deal” to resign.

A Spy post earlier today suggested Sanford really didn’t have a choice.

Here’s more prescient wisdom from The Spy; Sanford will resign because there is nothing else for him to do.  The pressure has reached the level of extortion and resignation is preferable to excommunication (see: Richard Nixon).

The governor once again defied convention – and logic.

Maybe this is Sanford’s way of sticking it to the politicos in the state legislature that have been such a pain to him for the last six-plus years.

Maybe he just wanted to make me look foolish.  I don’t need help.

We’ll have to see if Bauer actually DOES file for governor later this year or if “circumstances” arise that redirect his ambitions elsewhere.

  1. I think the headline should be Sanford to Bauer…not SC. As is, I do not think it is accurate.

  2. The Press quotes Jenny Sanford on her husband,”‘The ball is in his court.”
Actually, that is not what she said. The press did not hear her correctly.
She said, “I’ll have his balls in Court.”
