And So It Begins

Labor Day is the traditional start of the political season and it’s only three weeks away.  So… the circus is about to begin.  And we LOVE it!

For the more established candidates, campaigning hasn’t ever stopped.  They have monies left over from their last efforts and are/are going to be building on that stockpile.  Others are just starting.  Such it is with next year’s gubernatorial race in South Carolina.

The Democratic candidates are working their sources, but it’s not likely to matter in such a GOP state as South Carolina.

For the Republicans, Henry McMaster and Gresham Barrett have a good stash to work with already.  Andre Bauer not as much, but then, he may not be running for governor after all.  Larry Grooms is working hard, but checks have yet to be cashed.  And then, there’s Nikki Haley.

It’s no surprise to readers of this column that The Spy favors State Rep. Haley for governor.  And why not?  A true conservative with a proven track record as a dedicated and forthright public servant, Nikki represents a way out of the mess that the traditional and “established” politicians have created in the Palmetto State.  A reformer bent on transparency and accountability with the conservative values that are the true representation of South Carolinians, Nikki Haley is more of what is needed and not more of the same.

Nikki Haley’s support base is growing exponentially and she’s gaining quite a bit of positive attention.

If South Carolina has a chance to join the 21st Century, Nikki Haley is it’s best bet in 2010.  I’m not gonna do this often, but I’m encouraging folks to give Nikki a chance by donating to her campaign.  It’s easy enough to do.

  2. Agreed. We need to get the good old boys out! Fresh, young, new, truly conservative ideas. That’s why I jumped on board with the campaign from day 1.
