No Shame!

December 31st, 2009 § 3 Comments

Administration officials faulted the National Security Agency for not calling attention to intercepted communications from Yemen during the late summer and fall referring to a “Nigerian” being readied for an al-Qaeda attack, as well as what some intelligence officials said were direct conversations there between Abdulmutallab, whose name was unknown at the time, and radical American Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Aulaqi.    Washington Post

The President of the United States has no shame.  He also has no idea how intelligence works.  This seriously flawed “Commander-in-Chief” looks for anyone to blame rather than showing leadership.

Wanna place a sure-thing bet?  The National Security Agency is NOT at fault for withholding, downplaying, obfuscating or minimizing ANY information it had on The Underwear Nigerian.

At all.

Period.

Yet, this neophyte hand-puppet of a president will place blame on an agency of above-competent, dedicated professionals rather than admit that his own appointed bumblers are the least bit culpable.

I know the people of NSA.  I know the managers, supervisors and watch officers.  I know the Director, Lt. Gen. Keith Alexander.  All of them would cut off their own arms and beat themselves to death with the wet end before purposely doing ANYthing that would jeopardize the safety and security of this country.

Blaming America”s most effective intelligence agency is akin to blaming the dog for passing gas. Didn’t do it and can’t defend.

The National Security Agency cannot publicly respond to these presidential slanders. But consider that when NSA goes to Congress to testify or provide briefings, either in open or closed sessions, the agency gets bipartisan and, often, unanimous accolades for the work it does and the manner in which it does it.  Some Congressmen (curiously, usually Democrats) will try to gain cheap points with mild criticism in the press after praising the agency in private, but the fact is that NSA enjoys great respect from Congress, intelligence and diplomatic professionals and, most importantly, the military.

And keep in mind that NSA is part of the Department of Defense and about half of the agency’s population is military.  Many of those service men and women – as well as a large number of civilians – are deployed overseas, quite a few in dangerous locales.

Yet, in the public arena, the “president” does the “Look!  Over There!” maneuver because he is a spineless incompetent whose qualifications for the job fall somewhere between Larry The Cable Guy and Sham-Wow Vince.

In fact, given his past (whatever THAT is), his associations and the lack of a valid birth certificate, Barack Hussein Obama most likely could not get hired at NSA or any other government agency requiring background checks or polygraphs.

And HE makes snap judgments on the professionalism of the intelligence community?

Shame on him!

Terrorism And The Pointing Man

December 31st, 2009 § 1 Comment

President Obama has developed a penchant for blaming others for, well, just about anything that doesn’t go well.  Every time something goes wrong (a pretty frequent occurrence), it’s always someone else at fault.  Either that, or he makes snap judgments without having the full story, usually in an effort to either deflect responsibility or make someone of the opposition look bad.

Now, the vapid Commander-in-Chief is jumping out and saying the intelligence community failed in gathering information regarding the attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines jet over Detroit on Christmas Day.  He made this allegation a day before preliminary results of an investigation he ordered on the incident.

Based on available accounts, there was no failure in gathering information on the intended bombing.  The intelligence was there – courtesy of the National Security Agency:

In the case of Mr. Abdulmutallab, the N.S.A. appears to have captured critical intercepts, and [Abdulmutallab's] father provided the name that would have allowed American agencies to take action.

There is concern that the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) may not have effectively collated the information and brokered it as it is supposed to. But I can say from experience that what is available to the public about intelligence gathering, analysis and dissemination – particularly negatives and especially immediately after an “incident” – is never accurate.

It will take a while to determine what – if anything – went wrong with the intelligence system.  If there was negligence, no one will be more determined to correct the problem than those intelligence professionals responsible for protecting us.

But …

Ain’t it grand that this president is so willing to be “transparent” about problems with national security, but considerably more opaque when it comes to other issues of prominence?

Barack Obama should shut his yap about perceived intelligence “failures” at this point in the review.  He should show leadership [I'll pause to allow you to finish chuckling .........................] and not discuss real or imagined national security weaknesses.  This man is so paranoid about negative reactions to his administration he will throw any and every one under the trash truck to protect his image.  I’m surprised he didn’t say the NCTC “acted stupidly.”

It’s all about Barack.  Remember when critics howled when George W. Bush said, regarding the war against terrorism, “You’re either with us or against us?”  With this president, you’re either with HIM or against HIM.  There is no US with Barack Obama.

The Banal President

December 29th, 2009 § 4 Comments

Democrats are obsessed with telling us how smart they are.

Jimmy Carter was a brilliant nuclear submariner.  Bill Clinton was the smartest politician of the modern age and Hillary America’s smartest woman.  Al Gore is Earth’s prescient savior and Barack Obama is a genius.

The truth is that Jimmy Carter was a micro-managing lightweight, the Clintons are manipulating cretins more lucky than smart, Al Gore is a contrived presence and Barack Obama is all peeling and no juice.

President Obama has YET to exhibit even minimal leadership, but he has also completely failed to show the intellectual gift advertised during his campaign.  In fact, he has pretty much shown a superior incompetence in dealing with the economy, foreign affairs, terrorism, military issues, energy policy, transparency in government, tax reform or reforming the BCS process.

Barack Obama is over his head.  His lack of experience pointed out by the right last year is manifested in his inability to be a meaningful chief executive.  The nefarious associates we heard so much about have become notoriously dangerous policy-makers in his abysmal administration.  Obama’s disdain for the military or for necessary military solutions have become central weaknesses in an ineffective Commander-In-Chief.  His rapid rise (out of political nowhere) has seconded his Presidency to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

We’ve all seen how stuttering he is when off teleprompter, but more than just being inarticulate, he’s almost incomprehensible.  Without a script, Barack Obama can’t function – and that’s the problem with this poor excuse for a president.

Unless he’s being told what to say and do, “President” Obama is no more than an actor.  In a piece I posted over a year ago in which I referred to Obama as “C3BO,” I wrote:

C3BO appears – more and more – to be a George Soros-funded, Hollywood-hyped, far left-coded, media protected android.

The candidate was constructed and packaged inside an eloquent, advantageously African-American shell.

If elected, C3BO will be President only in name and office space.  His “policies” will be scripted by his programmers and his “decisions” crafted from the socialist tech manual.

At a time when leadership and intelligence are critical to our nation’s very survival, having a president that can deliver neither is a disaster.

“Yes We Can” has become “D’Oh!”

Reid Strips Texas of Big 12 Championship

December 20th, 2009 § 2 Comments

More details are coming out about the deal brokered between Nebraska Senator (and whore) Ben Nelson and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to secure Nelson’s vote on the seante’s Health Care bill.

To finalize the deal and get Nelson’s vote, securing passage of the Senate bill, Reid not only promised Nelson’s home state millions of dollars in federal “aid,” he added one more tidbit.  Reid will include in the bill – with President Obama’s sanction – an amendment that will require the NCAA to re-review the infamous last pass by University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy in the Big 12 Championship on December 5th. In that review, it will now be ruled that the game clock did, indeed run out, ending the game and giving the Nebraska Cornhuskers the conference title.

This concession answers several questions about the process adopted by Reid and the Democrat leadership in the politics of this controversial legislation.  First, the secrecy – why there was none of the promised transparency guaranteed by this administration.  Second, it explains why there is such a rush in getting this thing done.  The Senate needs to complete this BEFORE the BCS Championship game on January 7.

Besides, both senators from Texas are Republicans as is George W. Bush.

NEXT: Reid to replace the Pledge of Allegiance with “Viva Las Vegas.”

America’s Whorehouse

December 20th, 2009 § 6 Comments

As the old joke goes, a wizened old tycoon approaches a curvaceous blonde at a bar. “If I gave you a check for $5 million,” he asks her, “would you sleep with me tonight?” She looks at him, stunned. He’s a revolting specimen, but five million bucks would take care of her sick parents and set her up for life. “All right,” she replies, gulping. “I’ll do it.” Thereupon the old guy hands her a $5 bill and starts to lead her away. “Five dollars!” she cries. “What do you think I am?!” The old man glowers at her: “We’ve established what you are. At this point we’re just haggling over price.”

From the Washington Post:

Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) secured the pivotal 60th vote after acceding to the demands of Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) for tighter restrictions on insurance coverage for abortions, along with increased federal aid for his home state and breaks for favored health-care interests. [emphasis added]

From the New York Times

The “Louisiana Purchase,” as it is being called, a provision for Senator Mary L. Landrieu, Democrat of Louisiana, who obtained an extra $300 million in Medicaid funds for her state.

Deals like this are nothing new in Washington – or state legislatures either, for that matter.  But Harry Reid has likely taken political whoring to a new height – or low.  He held the health care bill “negotiations” in secret, like a john with a back alley hooker.  Maybe that’s because the bill he and his Democrat sluts are purveying are about as socially acceptable as nasty crack whores peddling their diseased wares.

It isn’t Harry Reid’s money.  It isn’t the Senate’s money.  It’s not even the government’s money.

It’s mine and yours.

Who is Reid to “negotiate” with hundreds of millions of our dollars?  That kind of gamble might be legal in his home state of Nevada, but it doesn’t work for me.

Come to think of it, prostitution is also legal in Nevada.

Well there ya go… Harry Reid thinks he’s America’s pimp and Nelson and Landrieu have been all too eager to “spread ‘em” for the right amount of cash.  And these two are just the most publicized prostitutes of which we are aware.

Now… we certainly don’t expect our representatives to be saints, but neither do we reckon them to be whores who sell OUR principles for OUR dollars to the benefit of others.

This isn’t the “bang for our buck” we want for our taxes.
