In my favorite movie, “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington,” there is a sequence in which Senator Smith’s (Jimmy Stewart) supporters are trying to publicize his message – and facts – about corruption regarding a dam project in his state.  Unfortunately, the powers in the Senate and their puppets in the home state control the media and the word can’t get out.  The press – radio and newspapers – are flooded with anti-Smith stories (lies) to discredit him.  Even Boy Rangers are run off the road and mauled by adult thugs.

Frankly, I’m gettin’ deja vu’ed.  There is far too much truth this year to Frank Capra’s tale of nearly 70 years ago.

In this election, the truth about Barack Obama is being waylaid by puppets in the press and Democrat Party operatives (thugs).

Look at what’s happening to a common work-a-day guy like “Joe the Plumber.”  Obama comes to his neighborhood, to his front yard and what does Joe do?  He has the gall to ask the Senator a question – one that his puppets would never ask.  Obama responds by letting the socialist cat out of the bag and… Joe the Plumber is villified in the national press.

Then, there’s Levi Johnston and Briston Palin.  They made two mistakes:  First, she got pregnant, an unfortunate occurrence among teens worldwide.  But, BUT, their second mistake was to be related to the Republican vice-presidential nominee.  Remember Bill Clinton schtupping an intern in the Oval Office and the Dems howling that such was “personal” and no one had a right to criticize or even discuss such a thing?  Remember the Clinton’s and the Obama’s telling the press to back off their children?

Joe Biden has pretty much admitted that Obama’s inexperience is gonna trip an international incident to “test his mettle.”  Just how much play is that – and the consequences of that statement – gonna get in the MSM?

John Murtha calls his own constituents “racists” and “rednecks” because they he doesn’t think they’ll vote for Obama.  Congressman John Lewis followed that insane rhetoric by likening McCain and Sarah Palin to George Wallace and the Klan.

And, of course, there’s the “Fairness Doctrine” that the Dems want to reinstate – closing off opposing viewpoints and turning all communications media into propaganda tools of the left.

Here’s the deal, folks.  If the Socialist is elected, balanced discourse will be eliminated from public debate.  The first shot will be to label the opposition as “racist” for daring to disagree with a (semi) black man.  Then comes the “dumb” label then “dangerous” characterization.  Though not as extreme as Stalin’s purges of 70 years ago, there will be purges nonetheless.  Failures, such as the Democrat Party-inspired Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac scandals, will be overlooked and the taxpayers – make that TAXpayers – will get the blame and the bill.

Bess Meyerson once said “The accomplice to the crime of corruption is frequently our own indifference.”

If Obama wins, it’s coming.
