The Coming Minority Wars

UPDATE: Several hours after I posted my article (below), Newsday released this item and CNN this one, both about the Census Bureau report being released on 14 August.
Prescient? Certainly … After all, this is The SPY!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s a war coming in the United States. Actually, it’s already started, but the real heat is a generation or two away. Still, it will be a revolutionary conflict that will completely alter the American political and cultural landscape. For the better? For worse? Don’t know, but certainly different.
First, some arithmetic [with thanks to the U.S. Census Bureau]:
- 14.4 million U.S. residents in July 2005 said they were Asian or Asian in combination with one or more other races. This group comprised about 5 percent of the total population.
- 33.4 million U.S. residents are projected to identify themselves as single-race Asians in 2050. They would comprise 8 percent of the total population by that year.
- As of July 1, 2006, the estimated population of black residents in the United States, including those of more than one race was 40.2 million. They made up 13.4 percent of the total U.S. population.
- Blacks are the largest minority group in 22 U.S. states.
- As of July 1, 2007, the estimated Hispanic population of the United States was 45.5 million, making people of Hispanic origin the nation’s largest ethnic or race minority. Hispanics constitute 15 percent of the nation’s total population.
- Hispanics are the largest minority group in 20 states
- About 1 of every 2 people added to the nation’s population between July 1, 2006, and July 1, 2007, was Hispanic.
- The U.S. has the 2nd largest Hispanic population worldwide, as of 2007. Only Mexico (108.7 million) had a larger Hispanic population than did the United States (45.5 million). (Spain’s population is 40.4 million.)
- There has been a 3.3% increase in the Hispanic population between July 1, 2006, and July 1, 2007, making Hispanics the fastest-growing minority group.
- 10.9 million school-age children (5 to 17) speak a language other than English at home; 7.8 million of these children speak Spanish at home.
A New York Post article earlier this year reflected on historical and current hostilities between Blacks, Hispanics and immigrants in general.
Growing anger over the way Hispanic immigration is changing their neighborhoods has prompted many African-Americans to rethink the notion of a rainbow coalition. Meanwhile, surveys show that many US Hispanics mistrust African-Americans and see themselves as more like whites than like blacks.
As reported by the Maynard Institute, despite what might be considered common experiences, tensions between these groups are significant.
“An overwhelming majority of respondents from the three racial/ethnic groups consider ‘racial tension’ to be a very important problem in the United States.
“A majority of Hispanics, Asians and African Americans would prefer to do business with White Anglos rather than with the other two racial/ethnic groups.
“Significant percentages of all three groups share negative stereotypes about the other two. However, similar percentages of respondents in each group also disagree with those stereotypes. These mixed results reflect the extent to which the poll is capturing not a static picture but a racial landscape in flux. Forty-four percent of Hispanics and 47 percent of Asians report that they are ‘generally afraid of African Americans because they are responsible for most of the crime.’ But 50 percent of Hispanics and 45 percent of Asian Americans disagree with this statement.
“Forty-six percent of Hispanics and 52 percent of African Americans agree with the statement that ‘most Asian business owners do not treat them with respect.’ Smaller percentages of Hispanics and African Americans disagree.
“Just over half of African Americans feel threatened by Latin American immigrants because ‘they are taking away jobs, housing and political power away from the Black community,’ while 45 percent disagree. Only 34 percent of Asians feel Hispanics are displacing them.
In a Weekly Standard article published earlier this month titled “Barack Obama’s Lost Years,” a telling example of these tensions is recounted;
When the 2000 census revealed dramatic growth in Chicago’s Hispanic and Asian populations alongside a decline in the number of African Americans, the Illinois black caucus was alarmed at the prospect that the number of blacks in the Illinois General Assembly might decline. At that point, Obama stepped to the forefront of the effort to preserve as many black seats as possible. The [Chicago] Defender quotes Obama as saying that, “while everyone agrees that the Hispanic population has grown, they cannot expand by taking African-American seats.” [Emphasis added]
So much for constitutional representation. But this isn’t about Barack Obama (although I appreciate him providing such a salient example) or exclusively about blacks. Rather, this is what is going to happen nation-wide as ethnic groups carve out their own pieces of American Pie.
OK… so be it. They’ll be allowed. But there is another, more ominous group that will have an even more radical approach to political expediency and extremism.
In 1990, the Muslim population of the United States stood at about 527,000. By 2001, it had more than doubled to over 1.1 million. Today, it’s very difficult to determine the numbers, but most estimates run between 4 and 6 million. Take a look… between 4 and 6 million! Even using the lower figure, thats a quadrupling in just the last seven years. [Determining the number of Muslims in the United States has become very difficult as Muslim poll and census respondents are reluctant to provide their religious affiliations.]
While these numbers don’t yet rival those of Blacks, Hispanics and Asians, clearly at the presumed rate of growth, they soon will.
Now, to be fair, there are a growing number of blacks who are converting (or being born into) Islam and there are many of Asian heritage who are Muslim. So the numbers are blended.
Still the issue is the conflict of minorities and this will be more than arguments borne of skin color or eye shape. Muslim philosophies as practiced through radicals and the demands of Sharia law will conflict mightily with traditions and cultures of ethnic stakeholders. There WILL be an aggressive cultural uprising by the American Muslim population to impose their standards and values. In fact, it’s already begun.
Mao’s Cultural Revolution and the Iranian Cultural Revolution in the 1980′s are examples of how this may well play out.
Wikipedia describes the Chinese version:
The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in the People’s Republic of China was a struggle for power within the Communist Party of China that manifested into wide-scale social, political, and economic violence and chaos, which grew to include large sections of Chinese society and eventually brought the entire country to the brink of civil war.
…and the Iranian:
The Cultural Revolution (1980-1987) was a period following the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran where the academia of Iran was purged of Western and non-Islamic influences to bring it in line with Islam.
For a glance into America’s future, look to England. There, they are dealing with a rapidly growing and increasingly fanatic Muslim population. Stories of Muslim demands in Great Britain are as numerous as they are frightening.
…in what she admitted were ‘sharp’ exchanges, some senior Muslim figures turned the tables yesterday and made a series of demands which also included the introduction of Sharia law for family matters.
In February, I posted Pat Condell’s video blog “More Demand From Islam” and, later, my own thoughts on “Melting Pot?“
Political Correctness and Nanny State pandering are caving in to special interests at an alarming rate. Our Constitution is being used by Muslims as a weapon against American values.
As minority populations grow, the tensions, culture clashes and conflicts of interest between groups will only become more intense.
Well, what do you expect when racist whites spend all waking hour whining about black America? This habit of white America has allowed hispanics to come and invade the country right before whites eyes and now they will loose power and status. Whites may as well start trying to immigrant to Europe.
After Katrina, Republicans and Halliburton brought in about 200,000 illegal hispanics to a city that had almost no hispanics and now they are in New Orleans having babies and adding onto the problems-whites wanted blacks so bad out of a historic black city that whites also shot themselves in the foot and do this time and time again.
Yep, it’s because white families only consist of 1 mother, 1 father, and 2 children. Basically the mother and father are only replacing themselves. Whereas minority families (with or without a father) have 4 to 7 children. In essence replacing themselves 2 and 3 times over.
If whites continue this trend then they will “in fact” become the minority.
If you whites don’t find a way to put an end to your “yuppie style” (1 son/1 daughter) attitude you can kiss your yuppie lifestyle goodbye forever…
But hey, look on the bright side. You’ll then be eligible for all that minority free $hit.!
I got edited. What a pussy website!
Zach, you were “edited” because you made racist remarks.
Well researched article, Garnet Spy. I attended elementary school when we were taught that America was a great melting pot of immigrants from all over the world. I don’t remember being taught that the only immigrants that mattered were of European origin. We were and continue to be a nation made up of all nationalities because of the OPPORTUNITIES afforded to every common man in the USA. That’s why the USA continues to attract immigrants. Should we be surprised that people from all ethic groups and nationalities continue to immigrate to the USA? Not at all! We should celebrate the multicultural roots of America and continue to welcome our brethren from other shores.
Remember, we’re the MELTING POT!
