Hillary’s Waterloo

2008 February 22

Hillary Clinton’s most formidable opponent in 2008 isn’t Barack Obama, John Edwards, or even Bill. Her greatest opposition is from the Democratic National Convention.

The DNC does not want Hillary Clinton to be President because then SHE would be the face of the party. Oddly enough, it’s not her face that worries the party seniors, it’s all of her.

So, why is this a bad thing? Because she may well be the most polarizing figure in American politics since Richard Nixon (or Jimmy Carter). Bill lost Congress to the Republicans for the first time in 40 years. They got it back, but just barely and with the help of a bungling George Bush and a stupid GOP. Hillary will regenerate Republicans on a conservative agenda – the one to which the country most relates – and put both houses back in the GOP column. She is far more dangerous to Democratic Party hegemony than Bill ever was.

This is exacerbated by the hard and contentious primary fight she’s having with Obama. Her campaign has already alienated a foundation post of the party – African-Americans – and is losing the other – the youth vote – almost daily. Not far behind are the elitist money bags and Hollywood.

The Party also knows that Hillary – like Bill (but more so) – can’t be controlled. She will do what she has always done – whatever benefits her. It’s no secret that she will roll over any and everyone that opposes her and that will include the Party.

If she were to get into office, Nancy Pelosi (the current Democratic Queen Bee) and Harry Reid and Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy will become not just support players, but servants to Her Majesty.

That ain‘t gonna happen!

As noted here in earlier posts, Pelosi is “leaning towards Obama,” Reid is uncommitted, though he is a long-time Clintonista, there is NO love from John Dean, whose interests as Party Chairman is (1) staying Party Chairman and (2) keeping Congress Democratic, and, well, we know about Ted.

Watch the main stream media closely.

Listen carefully to the talk about the super-delegates and the seating of the Florida and Michigan delegates. The party is going to make sure that Obama carries enough of the super-delegates to win the nomination and the two premature electionations – Florida and Michigan – will not have a first ballot vote. With Al Sharpton already lobbying to keep those delegates out of the vote, the usual cries for the “disenfranchised” will not be heard.

Even the Daily Kos has abandoned her. Not surprising, though. Look at their content contributors.

The Battle of Waterloo was Napoleon Bonaparte’s last battle. His defeat put a final end to his rule as Emperor of the French.
